AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide
community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as
a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing
suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
INTRODUCTION
The Midwest
Division of the American Cancer Society (Iowa,
Minnesota,
South Dakota and
Wisconsin) considers cancer research vital to its
mission and is a strong supporter of the national research program. In addition,
the Midwest Division recognizes a special role for a Community-based
Participatory Research (CBPR) Grants that would complement the national research
program.
