The purpose of the CBPR Grants Program of the Midwest Division is to foster collaborative partnerships between community members, researchers, and the American Cancer Society to develop, evaluate and disseminate effective interventions and programs designed to reduce the cancer burden, with a special focus on health disparities.

Funding Parameters

  • Grants will be awarded in amounts up to $25,000 per year or up to $50,000 for two years
  • The initial phase of a two-year proposal may be a planning period
  • For two-year awards, satisfactory progress must be demonstrated during the first year to qualify for second year funding
  • Final installments for awards will be contingent on meeting all program and budget requirements

The CBPR Grants Program is competitive and designed to encourage high quality community-based initiatives that address its purpose and priorities. The Program is intended to support the American Cancer Society Mission, the 2015 goals and National Leadership Roles, as well as Midwest Division priorities.
