Operational Statistics

The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge opened on December 31, 2007. In the future we will be able to report on actual statistics based upon services delivered. Based upon figures from our referring institutions, market averages, and other Hope Lodges, we anticipate the following statistics for 2008.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

We encourage all of our guests to complete a survey about their stay. Based upon a model of 100% being perfectly satisfied and 0% being completely dissatisfied we expect to achieve an overall guest satisfaction rating of at least 85%. For January and February 2008 that figure was 90%. .

Occupancy Rate

We strive to maximize the donor dollars provided to support the Hope Lodge, so we are seeking to ensure every qualified cancer patient who is referred is able to be housed in our home-away-from-home. We anticipate the occupancy rate to build from the first room assigned in the 40 room facility in December 2007 up to 100% occupancy by the end of May 2008. At the end of February 2008 the occupancy rate was 37.5% .
Number of Guest Overnights Provided
Our projections call for an average stay of 21 days. When we achieve 100% occupancy, with an average 21 day stay, we will be providing about 700 individuals a total of 14,600 guest overnight stays and this number is growing daily!
Guest Savings
Based upon an average hotel cost per night in Minneapolis/St. Paul of $119.00 those 14,600 nights will save our guests $1,737,400 annually in lodging costs so they can focus their energy and resources into fighting cancer.
